Vol. 92 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Removal of Statue.

asked the Taoiseach if he is aware of the demand of a number of public bodies for the removal of the statue of Queen Victoria from Leinster House Lawn; and if it is his intention to see that it is removed.

I am aware that resolutions have been passed by certain public bodies in favour of the removal of the statue referred to in the Deputy's question and its replacement by another monument. No decision has been taken in respect of this matter, which is not regarded as one of urgency.
