Vol. 92 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Report of Drainage Commission.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state whether the Government has considered the report of the Drainage Commission, whether any decision has been arrived at, and when it is proposed to implement the recommendations contained in the report.

As has already been intimated on a number of occasions in the House, the recommendations of the Drainage Commission have been accepted in principle by the Government and a Bill to give effect to this decision is in course of preparation. Every effort is being made to expedite its introduction.

Could the Minister say if the Government would give favourable consideration to the question of suspending proceedings for the recovery of drainage charges under the Barrow Drainage Scheme?

That is a separate question.

No facilities of any kind will be given. These rates will be collected.
