Vol. 92 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rural Improvement Schemes.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will arrange at an early date for inspectors under the rural improvements scheme to visit South and East Kerry to report on important schemes submitted.

Without employing an unduly large staff of inspectors it would not be possible to deal simultaneously with the large numbers of applications which I have received from all parts of the country, nor would it be economic in view of existing difficulties of conveyance to send an inspector to investigate limited numbers of cases in widely separated areas. Naturally, those areas from which the largest numbers of applications were received at an early date are receiving first attention. Subject to this, however, I shall have the arrangements requested by the Deputy made.
