Vol. 92 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - G.S.R. Petrol Supply.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he will state what is the estimated extra quantity of petrol which the Great Southern Railways Company will use monthly as a result of the taking over of the transport of produce for the Castlebar Bacon Company.

Bulk supplies of petrol are made available to the Great Southern Railways Company to operate road merchandise services for the carriage of the goods of the community generally.

It would be impracticable to segregate the quantity of petrol necessary for the transport of the goods of any individual firm, and I have no information as to the quantity of petrol that will be used for the transport of the goods of the Castlebar Bacon Company or that extra petrol will be required for this purpose as a result of the introduction of the scheduled services of the Great Southern Railways Company.
