Vol. 93 No. 14

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands whether representations have been made to his Department from landless men and small holders in the Borrisokane district asking that he would acquire the lands of the Waller estate at Carrigagowan, Coolbawn, Borrisokane; and whether it is his intention to take over these lands for division among suitable local applicants.

Representations have been made to the Land Commission from landless men and small holders in the Borrisokane district, asking that the Land Commission acquire the lands of the Waller estate at Carrigagowan. There are no proceedings pending for the acquisition of these lands, and owing to the emergency conditions the Land Commission are not prepared to take any action regarding the question of their acquisition. In the year 1939, the Land Commission acquired from Mr. Waller 177 acres in the same district, and divided the lands among local applicants.
