Vol. 94 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Supplies of Cement.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state when it is expected that supplies of cement will be available for purchase without a permit.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he can indicate how soon increased supplies of cement required for various works, and in the absence of which large numbers of artisans are idle, will be available to the general public.

I will answer questions Nos. 3 and 4 together.

It is not at present possible to state when circumstances may permit of the removal of the restrictions on the purchase and sale of cement. Recently, however, the supply position has eased somewhat and permits for the purchase of cement are being issued more freely than was possible heretofore.

Is it possible for the persons in question to get supplies for artisans now, even in limited quantity?

It is possible to get supplies now.
