Vol. 94 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Harvest Workers.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the number of young men who registered at the unemployment exchanges in County Mayo for harvest work in the Midlands this year, and what number of those who registered for this work were granted employment.

The answer to the Deputy's question is 440 and 80, respectively. Work under the Harvest Labour Scheme, however, was offered to a further 66 of the 440 registrants, but they declined to travel.
