Vol. 94 No. 15

Sittings of Dáil.

Will the Tánaiste say on what days it is proposed to sit next week.

It is proposed to sit next week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Simply for the purpose of completing the Transport Bill?

If the Committee Stage of the Transport Bill is concluded on Tuesday, is it the intention to proceed immediately with the next stage of that Bill?

We all have hopes that the Committee Stage of the Transport Bill will be finished soon. There is no intention, no matter what anyone may think, on the part of anybody to carry on obstruction so far as that Bill is concerned, if that is being suggested.

That is not suggested, but we have to take account of the fact that we have only reached amendment No. 66 out of 227 amendments in a fortnight.

I think we have disposed of the most important amendments.

The question is whether the Dáil will sit on four days next week if the Committee Stage of the Transport Bill is concluded early in that week.

We can see on Tuesday. That will be a matter for the House.

When is the House taking the Committee Stage of the Arterial Drainage Bill?

It is not for me to say.

As soon as the Committee Stage of the Transport Bill is finished.

Suppose we finish the Committee Stage of the Transport Bill early next week?

We could then take the Arterial Drainage Bill.

Is that firm?

Provided the House agrees, our intention is to take the Arterial Drainage Bill as soon as the Committee Stage of the Transport Bill is disposed of.

When the Committee Stage of the Transport Bill has been disposed of, the taking of the other Bill can be arranged.

Very well.
