Vol. 95 No. 1

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Injured Soldier's Claim.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will reconsider the application for an allowance under Army Pensions Acts in the case of Mr. Thomas O'Rourke, St. Aiden Terrace, Cavan, who was injured at Mullingar on 20th December, 1941, while serving in the Defence Forces, and if he will have his case investigated and action taken with the least possible delay.

I am precluded by the terms of the Army Pensions Acts from granting any award to Mr. O'Rourke in respect of the injury received in December, 1941, as he is already in receipt of a pension under the Army Pensions Act, 1923, in respect of injury received in August, 1923. The question of amending the Acts is at present receiving attention and Mr. O'Rourke's case will receive consideration in the light of any amending legislation.
