Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Officers' Gratuities.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he proposes to pay a gratuity to temporary officers of the Defence Forces on demobilisation to enable them to re-establish themselves in civil life: and, if so, how the amount of such gratuity will be determined.

As indicated in my reply to Deputy Byrne's question of the 3rd instant, no decision has been reached regarding the payment of gratuities to temporary officers on demobilisation.

Has the Minister the matter under consideration?

No, I am not considering it at the moment.

Will the Minister consider the matter?
