Vol. 95 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kilcummin Bog (County Offaly).

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state if he has received repeated applications for a grant for carrying out bog road repair and drainage work on the Kilcummin Bog near Belmont, County Offaly, and whether he can now state what action, if any, he has taken or proposes taking concerning this matter.

Applications from two different sources were received in March last in respect of the improvement works referred to by the Deputy. The proposals have since been reported on by an inspector and, as a result, grants have already been authorised for the carrying out of the essential portions of the works applied for.

Am I to understand from the reply that the work will not be carried out?

I have not made any such reply. I stated that the proposals have been reported upon by an inspector and, as a result, grants have already been authorised for the carrying out of the essential portions of the works applied for.

Then the works will be put in hand at an early date?
