Vol. 95 No. 11

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Motor Car Tax.

asked the Minister for Finance if it is his intention to alter the existing motor car tax and bring it in line with the new British proposals.

There is no intention at present of changing the basis of motor vehicle taxation.

I take it the Minister realises that if the tax is altered in Britain it will have a very important bearing. In that event, I suppose, he will consider altering it here.

It does not follow that we should adopt the same system.
