Vol. 95 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Commonwealth Air Transport Council.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he will state the functions of the Commonwealth Air Transport Council, its personnel and the method of their appointment.

I am not in a position to add to the official published statements made by the British authorities with regard to the council.

May I ask the Minister if the Government here have been notified of the setting up of such a council and have been invited to take part in it?

Well, of course, that is hardly a supplementary question. I think it is a separate question, but, so far as my information goes, we have not been invited.

Is it considered that the Minister has a right to be on such a council?

Oh, that is an entirely different question.

Surely, that is a separate question.

Normally, Sir, I should like to raise this matter on the Adjournment, but, in the absence of the Minister for External Affairs, we shall defer the question to another time. I presume, however, that the Minister understands that we should like to have some more information in regard to this very important body, in view of the functions which, it appears, pertain to them.
