Vol. 95 No. 19

Committee on Finance. - Vote 37—Supreme Court and High Court of Justice.

I move:—

That a supplementary sum not exceeding £1,225 be granted to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending 31st March, 1945, for such of the Salaries and Expenses of the Supreme Court and High Court of Justice as are not charged on the Central Fund (No. 27 of 1926 and No. 48 of 1936).

The increase under sub-head A is as a result of the recent extension of the cost-of-living bonus. As regards sub-head F F—Purchase of Library—these volumes were bought at the request of the judges and kept in convenient places in the courts so that, if it were necessary for a judge to refer to any statute or cited case, the necessary volume could be produced without delay.

Vote put and agreed to.
