Vol. 96 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Brownswood Sanatorium.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will consider appointing a permanent resident medical officer for Brownswood Sanatorium, Enniscorthy, as there is a large number of patients in this institution at present.

The person to be appointed as medical superintendent of the sanatorium will have duties other than those attaching to that post, but his services will be available to the institution to any extent that may be found necessary. The whole-time services of a medical officer would not be needed for the sanatorium. A site for a medical officer's residence adjacent to the sanatorium was suggested for the consideration of the local authority.

Is it not a fact that there was always a resident doctor in this institution? Is this a new proposal, that the doctor will not be a full-time employee of the institution?

He will not be a fulltime employee?

It is not a new proposal.
