Vol. 96 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Local Elections.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state if he has yet decided on the date for holding the local elections or if he proposes to postpone them.

An announcement in regard to the triennial elections of local councils which are due to be held this year will be made in due course.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if there will be an election for Edenderry Town Commissioners and also for other dissolved bodies at the coming local elections.

An election of members of the Edenderry Town Commissioners is due to be held this year. An announcement will be made in due course as regards other local elections which are due to be held this year also.

May I take it that, as regards all local authorities which were dissolved in the same way as in Edenderry, an election will also take place for them?

The Deputy can study the reply I have made to his question. I have nothing to add to it.

Fair enough.
