Vol. 96 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - British Airways Corporation Vehicles.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the number of vehicles (distinguishing the various makes of vehicles) imported for the use of British Airways Corporation subsequent to November 30th, 1944, and the reason why vehicles for the use of this firm are not being produced in this country.

It is not the practice to publish figures relating to the business of an individual undertaking and I am unable, in the circumstances, to supply the particulars requested in this instance.

The very limited number of vehicles which were imported by the British Overseas Airways Corporation during the period in question were necessary to avoid a breakdown in general operations at Foynes and Rhynanna. The vehicles were imported in the only condition in which they were available.

As Deputy Byrne is not present the answers to Questions Nos. 7 and 8 will appear as Written Answers in the Official Report.
