Vol. 96 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Phosphate Rock Output.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state for the year 1944 (a) the total output of raw rock from Irish deposits of phosphate and (b) the unit cost of such phosphate ex deposit.

Figures of output for the calendar year 1944 are not available. For the 12 months ended September, 1944, approximately 17,000 tons of phosphate rock were produced. I do not consider it desirable to give information regarding costs of production where only two concerns are involved.
