Vol. 96 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Commission Proceedings in County Mayo.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what is the aggregate rental collected by the Land Commission from lands in their hands in County Mayo, which have been let in the form of tillage and grazing to uneconomic holders.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what acreage of land in County Mayo has been acquired by the Land Commission; how long this land has been in their hands; and when it is proposed to have this land allocated amongst the congested tenants in that county.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what is the total number of migrants who left County Mayo to take up residence on economic holdings in other parts of the country since 1932; the names of those migrants; and the areas from which they migrated, setting out the number per year who had been accommodated and the acreage allotted to each holder.

Mr. Boland

I propose to take together Deputy Cafferky's three questions relative to proceedings of the Land Commission in County Mayo.

It would, I am afraid, be quite impossible to answer these questions in the form in which they have been put, even if longer notice had been given, but I think I know just what information the Deputy is anxious to obtain under each heading and I am having details extracted from Land Commission records to the fullest extent possible with the staff available and shall send them to him.
