Vol. 96 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Turf-Cutting in County Kildare.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state when licences will be issued to tenants to cut turf on the Blackriver Bog at Rathangan, County Kildare.

Mr. Boland (for the Minister for Lands)

Preparations are at present being made for turbary lettings for the 1945 season on the bog in question.

The Minister realises, of course; that there is excellent weather for turf-cutting at present. Will he have the lettings made in the next week or two, so that they may take advantage of it?

Mr. Boland

I understand we are expediting it as much as we can.

They will be made in the next week or two?

Mr. Boland

Do not ask me that. I was caught out once, about ten years ago.

I hope the Minister will bear in mind the advice of the Minister for Supplies in regard to turf-cutting.

I understand that the subject matter of question No. 21 on yesterday's Order Paper is being raised on the Adjournment by Deputy Keyes.
