Vol. 96 No. 20

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business as on the Order Paper, Items Nos. 5, 3, 8, 6—Votes Nos. 32 to 40—7, and then resume item No. 6—Votes Nos. 52, 53, 54, 61 and 62. Private Deputies' business will be taken at 7.30, resuming on motion No. 4 on list No. 5.

Would the Tánaiste consider giving time for the discussion of motion No. 6, provided agreement can be reached with regard to motion No. 5? It is a very urgent motion, in view of the fact that the time for nominations for the Presidency expires in a few days. Could the Tánaiste give time this week and, if possible, to-morrow?

I have not discussed the matter, but I do not think it is proposed to give Government time for this motion. One motion is already under discussion and there are four other motions, some of them in the names of Deputies of other Parties, which come before the motion to which the Deputy refers. If the leader of Clann na Talmhan will discuss with the other Deputies the question of their giving way and raise the matter again, I will have it discussed.

In the event of their giving way, will the Tánaiste allow time?

I will have the matter discussed then and see if time can be given.

When is it proposed to take items Nos. 1 and 2 on the Order Paper? It was said that they were to be taken this week.

To-morrow, probably after questions.

When is it proposed to take item No. 4?

To-morrow.
