Vol. 96 No. 21

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Gallon Graveyard (Offaly).

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state if he has received an estimate and specification from Offaly County Council for the repairs to Gallon graveyard, near Ferbane, County Offaly; and, if so, if he will consider approving them without delay so that the work can be put into operation shortly.

I presume that the Deputy's question is intended to relate to the repair of the roadway leading to Gallon graveyard. An application in connection with the repair of this road was received at the end of January. The estimated cost was given at £85. The matter is one for the local authority to decide on their own responsibility and they have been so informed.

Am I to understand that the Local Government Department have no objection to the expenditure of £85 on the scheme submitted?

I have already said that the matter was one for the local authority to decide.
