Vol. 97 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Prendergast Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will take steps to acquire and rearrange immediately the Prendergast Estate (Record No. U.5052), and make the necessary roads and provision of turbary plots to the tenants living and bordering on it.

The Land Commission have had inquiries made regarding the untenanted lands of Caraun owned by Mr. Richard Prendergast but they are not yet in a position to consider the question of the acquisition of these lands, or to investigate the turbary position on the tenanted estate of Mr. Prendergast.

Will the Minister state if there is any likelihood in the near future of the Land Commission interesting themselves in this particular estate?

It is very difficult for me to say.
