Vol. 97 No. 20

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Temporary Cattle Pens.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will recommend to Córas Iompair Éireann that temporary cattle pens be provided at Killeagh Railway Station on fair days for the convenience of cattle owners and cattle dealers, as existing facilities are inadequate, and such provision will help to eliminate the rough handling of cattle while being loaded on such occasions.

I understand that Córas Iompair Éireann have examined the question of providing temporary cattle pens at certain railway stations but are not satisfied that they would be of any benefit either to users or to the company.
