Vol. 98 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bus Services in Rural Areas.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if, in view of the improved position as regards tyres, oil and petrol supplies, he is prepared to authorise later bus services daily and Sunday bus services to the rural areas; and if he can hold out any hope of allowing special buses and taxis to attend race meetings and other sports fixtures where there is no other means of transport available.

I regret that the supply position does not yet justify the restoration of late evening bus services or Sunday services to rural areas. I am not in a position to state when it may be possible to authorise special buses and taxis to attend race meetings or other sports fixtures.
