Vol. 98 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Trade Discussions.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he will state whether it is the intention of the Government to seek an early opportunity for trade discussions with British Ministers.

The time for full scale discussions has not yet come; a considerable element of normality must first be restored to the general conditions governing international trade. A short general review, however, of our mutual trade has taken place between the Tánaiste and the President of the British Board of Trade, and, of course, individual aspects of our mutual trade are constantly under review and discussion between the Departments concerned.
