Vol. 98 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing of Demobilised Soldiers.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state if his Department have any proposals for the housing of members of the Defence Forces about to be demobilised; and if a housing scheme similar to the Irish Soldiers' and Sailors' Land Trust will be introduced, and so reduce the pressure on the local authorities whose housing activities are limited.

The reply to the Deputy's question is no.

The Minister is aware of the difficulty which men being demobilised from the Army are experiencing in getting housing accommodation in Dublin? Will he not do something to assist these men who have served the country? Is the answer still no?

I have given the reply to the Deputy's question.
