As regards offices under local authorities which are filled on a recommendation of the Local Appointments Commissioners special consideration is given to applicants who have served in the Defence Forces or the Auxiliary Defence Forces in accordance with a scheme approved by the Government. A circular will shortly issue to local authorities recommending that similar action be taken in the case of other offices or employments under local authorities.
