Vol. 98 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Baldoyle Residence.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that the Dublin Corporation own a house at Parochial Avenue, Baldoyle, occupied by a certain family; that the house requires immediate repair, as the walls were stripped to have them disinfected arising out of the death of a member of the family from tuberculosis; and, further, that several members of this family died from tuberculosis; and, if so, if he will state what steps he proposes to take to ensure that the house is put in a habitable condition and have water and sewerage provided.

As regards the particular house referred to, I would point out that the question of repairs is not one which would normally come before my Department. The dwelling was not provided by the Corporation of Dublin in the exercise of their powers as a housing authority. In view, however, of the facts of the case, I will have inquiries made in relation thereto.
