Vol. 98 No. 8

Written Answer. - Widows' and Orphans' Pensions.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that the pension portion of the combined health and pensions contribution paid by Eire citizens under the British or Northern Ireland Insurance Acts is not effective for the purpose of qualifying for a widow's or orphan's pension under the Widows' and Orphans' Pension Scheme of Eire; and, if so, if he will introduce legislation to qualify the many thousands of citizens of Eire now paying insurance in Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply given to a similar question by Deputy Norton on the 16th ultimo.
