Vol. 98 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Revaluation of Land.

Mr. P. Burke

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that there is some disappointment amongst landowners who have tried to get some of their land revalued, and especially inferior land, the valuation of which is considered excessive; and, if so, if he will consider having such land revalued.

So far as I am aware, the number of landowners who have sought to have their lands revalued on the ground that the present valuation is excessive is very small. Fresh legislation would be necessary to enable individual holdings of land to be revalued and, pending the enactment of any such legislation, the answer to the last part of the Deputy's question must be in the negative.
