Vol. 99 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Supply of Cutch.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state whether an adequate supply of cutch will be available this season for the barking of nets.

I do not see much prospect of cutch for the barking of fishing nets being in supply during the present season. The position is still much the same as it was when Deputy J.B. Healy addressed a question to me on the subject on 13th March, 1945.

Has the Minister got any adequate substitute for cutch?

Yes, they are doing fairly well with a substitute.

Is it the blue stone and copper crystals?

I could not say what the substitute is.
