Vol. 99 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Mayo Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state when the lands in the townland of Lecanvey, County Mayo, on the Palmer estate, at present let for grazing by the Irish Land Commission, will be divided amongst the local tenants.

The holdings of 11 tenants in the townland of Leckanvy (part of) on the estate of Sir R. Palmer, C.D.B. 35, Mayo, have not yet been resold. Emergency conditions have prevented the rearrangement of these holdings in conjunction with the lands at present let in grazing.

It is not possible to say when this work can be undertaken having regard to the number of holdings in a much worse congested condition in the district requiring prior attention.

I suppose in 11 to 20 years' time that question will be decided.
