Vol. 99 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Donegal Handknit Industry.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state whether, in connection with the supply of woollen knit garments to those needing relief in Europe, he will have special regard to the resources of the handknit industry in Donegal, and avail himself of its potentialities to produce the required knitwear.

The resources of the handknitting industry in Donegal have as far as practicable been utilised in the production of the knitwear already supplied under the Government scheme for the relief of distress in Europe. This practice will be followed in the event of any further supplies of knitwear being dispatched.
