Vol. 99 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Lime Subsidy.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state (a) the basis on which the lime subsidy is operated; (b) why there are such wide variations in the subsidy, which is as high as £1 15s. Od. per ton for County Dublin, and as low as 10/8 per ton for County Cork.

The position in these two respects has not altered since my reply to a similar question from the Deputy on the 4th March, 1943.

Can the Minister explain why it is necessary to have such a wide variation between Dublin and Cork?

I gave a full reply on 4th March, 1943.

Can you explain why the subsidy was only 10/8 in Cork and in Dublin £1 15s. Od.?

I gave the Deputy the basis.
