Vol. 99 No. 12

Deputy Apologises.

Before to-day's business commences, I wish to refer to an incident that took place in the House this day week during the discussion on the Local Government Bill when I made use of a remark against the Minister on that occasion. Since then, I have had an opportunity of looking over the published proceedings of the House, and I realise exactly what the remark implies. With your permission, and with the permission of the House, I offer my apologies to the Minister for any annoyance that the remark may have caused him.

Deputies

Hear, hear!

My attention was drawn to the remark in question by the Leas-Cheann Comhairle who assured me that he did not hear the words which were certainly unworthy and most disorderly. The Deputy's withdrawal and apology are accepted by the Chair, and I trust will be satisfactory to the Government. The incident is now closed. I shall have the remarks excised from the bound volume of the Official Report.
