Mr. Corish
asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the number of men discharged from the Army during each month subsequent to 1st January, 1946, on the grounds that (a) they had offers of employment; (b) they desired to resume study; and (c) they proposed returning to their own former business or profession.
As the preparation of the information required would entail the scrutiny of thousands of files in the various Army Area Records Offices and would throw an unreasonably heavy amount of work on the already fully-occupied staffs, I regret that it is not possible to furnish the particulars mentioned by the Deputy.
