Vol. 100 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Migration from County Mayo.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that a number of tenants from the electoral division of Knappagh, Buchanan Estate, County Mayo, are anxious to migrate to the midlands; if he is further aware that some of those people have been listed for migration since 1939; and if he will state when it will be possible to give consideration to these uneconomic holders.

Mr. Boland

The Land Commission have approved of the migration of a number of tenants from the townland of Fahburren on the Buchanan Estate, County Mayo to the midlands, but in view of the shortage of suitable new holdings with housing facilities, it is not possible to state when the migrations will be carried out.
