Vol. 101 No. 4

Committee on Finance. - Vote 23—Ordnance Survey.

I move:—

That a sum not exceeding £25,940 be granted to complete the sum necessary to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending the 31st day of March, 1947, for the Salaries and Expenses of the Ordnance Survey and of Minor Services including the Facsimile Reproduction of Ancient Manuscripts.

Has any considertion been given to the co-ordination of these services—Valuation and Boundary Survey—with a view to a complete survey of land for the purpose of vesting it in the Land Commission?

I could not say whether that would be practicable or not. I rather think that it would not.

Was it ever considered?

Not to my knowledge.

Vote put and agreed to.
