Written Answers. - Timber Statistics.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state in respect of each of the years 1943, 1944 and 1945 (a) the total home consumption of (i) softwood, and (ii) hardwood, distinguishing, in each case, between home-grown and imported timber; (b) the total quantity of timber exported (i) in the round, and (ii) sawn or otherwise processed; (c) the average gross price paid for imported (i) softwood, and (ii) hardwood in terms of thousands of cubic feet; and (d) the average net price realised in terms of thousands of cubic feet for timber exported (i) in the round, and (ii) sawn or otherwise processed.

The particulars which the Deputy requires are as follows:—
