Mr. Sheldon

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the number of (a) employees, and (b) male relatives of farmers, in respect of whom employment allowances, under the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1939 (No. 23 of 1939) were made by each rating authority, in each year since that Act came into force.

The reply, in the form of a tabular statement, will be circulated with the Ceann Comhairle's permission, with the Official Report. The only rating authorities that make employment allowances under the Act are the county councils.

The following are the particulars:—

TABLE showing the number of (a) employees, and (b) male relatives of the rated occupiers of agricultural land in respect of whom employment allowance under the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1939 (No. 23 of 1939) were made by each County Council, in each year since that Act came into force.
