Vol. 101 No. 19

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Newmarket (Cork) Holding.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether any agreement has been made between his Department and the present owner of the Island Wood, near Newmarket, County Cork; and if so, if he will state the terms of agreement and also the intentions of his Department in regard to the disposal of the property.

The Department has purchased an area of 170¼ acres, together with all the trees and timber thereon in the townlands of Longacre, Island and Lisungill, and is about to take over possession. The area consists entirely of woodland and has been bought for State forestry purposes.
