Vol. 102 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Supplementary Petrol Allowances.

Mr. Corish

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will grant a supplementary petrol allowance to persons such as superintendents of insurance companies and agents of the National Health Insurance Society who are required to travel over considerable areas each week in the discharge of their duties.

The question of the grant of supplementary allowances of petrol for use in private motor vehicles operated by certain insurance officials in the course of their business has been discussed by my Department with representatives of the various insurance companies, and is at present under consideration.
