Vol. 102 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Public Telephone for Clonbollogue (Offaly).

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the urgent need for a public telephone at Clonbollogue, Offaly; and if he will undertake to have such a service provided at an early date, as the residents of the area have made repeated requests for same.

Recently a petition signed by the local clergy and parishioners was forwarded to me by Deputy Gorry, requesting the provision of a call office at Clonbollogue and also other improvements of postal facilities. In my reply to Deputy Gorry on the 24th May I stated that it was intended to provide a call office at Clonbollogue Post Office during the current financial year and to accede as far as was practicable to the other representations contained in the petition.

If he does not talk, at least he writes.
