Vol. 103 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerosene for Domestic Cooking.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that, arising out of the condition of the turf supplies at present available, severe hardship on domestic consumers is arising; and whether he will favourably consider the granting of an additional allocation of kerosene for domestic cooking.

I am aware that the fuel position generally has created difficulties for householders. In view of an improvement in kerosene supplies a scheme was introduced early this month under which allowances of paraffin oil for use in oil cookers are made available. The allowances which are being made are as high as the supply position permits.
