Vol. 103 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bandon Old Age Pension Claim.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that the Bandon South Sub-Pensions Committee, in February, 1946, allowed an old age pension to Mrs. Mary Crowley, Horse Hill, Ballinadee, Bandon; if he will state why payment of the pension has not yet been made; and what action he proposes to take in the matter.

The Bandon South Old Age Pension Sub-Committee on the 15th February last awarded Mrs. Mary Crowley, Horse Hill, Ballinadee, Bandon, a pension of 10/- a week. Payment of the pension is being withheld to recover a debt of £115 10s. 0d. due to the State by Mrs. Crowley, being the amount of old age pension money drawn by her during the period 1st October, 1939-29th September, 1944, to which she was not entitled. I do not propose to take any action in the matter.

Would the Minister say how much is due at the present time?

I could not say. The total debt was £115 10s. 0d.
