Vol. 103 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Domestic Coal.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if coal will be available for domestic purposes, during the winter months, in districts where suitable turf cannot be procured.

I am not aware of any districts where suitable turf cannot be procured to meet immediate domestic requirements. All possible steps are being taken to maintain adequate supplies during the winter months. Having regard to the existing general scarcity of coal, I am not in a position to indicate when supplies of this fuel may be available for domestic purposes.
