Vol. 103 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Food Conference Delegation.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state (a) the cost of sending the delegation to the recent Food Conference in London, and (b) the benefits that will accrue to this country as a result of the conference.

I presume the Deputy refers to the recent discussions in London which I attended. The expenses incurred amounted to £15 approximately. The discussions resulted in an increase of 1d. per lb. in the price of fat cattle and a long term contract for the sale of eggs, with which was associated increased prices for turkeys and other poultry.
