Vol. 103 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Racing Board Levies.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the amount of levy collected from bookmakers, by the Racing Board, for the year ended the 30th September, 1946, and also, the amount collected from the totalisator; and further, how these moneys have been expended under the following headings (a) improvement of amenities; (b) increase of stakes; and (c) any other heading.

I have no information with regard to the matters specified in the question other than that contained in the report and accounts of the Racing Board for the period from 22nd June, 1945, to the 31st March, 1946, which were duly presented to the Oireachtas in accordance with Section 19 of the Racing Board and Racecourses Act, 1945. The next report and accounts of the board will cover the period of 12 months ending on the 31st March, 1947.
