Vol. 103 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Interest Rate on Loans by Local Authorities.

Mr. Corish

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if it is his intention to fix a new rate of interest for the issue of loans by local authorities under the Small Dwellings Acquisition Acts, in view of the fact that local authorities can now obtain loans at 2½ per cent. from the Local Loans Fund.

Yes. The matter has been under consideration and I hope to be in a position at an early date to communicate the result to the local authorities.
